Nidup is Trovant‘s pioneering technology that optimizes biogas upgrading into biomethane to make it more cost-efficient and viable at small and medium scale combining well-established systems and new bioprocesses.

Nidup does not use membranes, but a robust gas treatment system—used for decades in the energy industry—and combines it with biological processes reducing drastically operative costs.

TECHNOLOGY

Nidup technology can be used in small-scale crude biogas productions <400 Nm3/h = <20 Gwh/year and medium-scale 400 – 1000 Nm3/h = 20 – 50 GWh/year.

Unlike other biogas upgrading technologies (membranes, PSA, amine scrubbing, water-scrubbing), Nidup:

Low energy, pressure, and temperature requirements.

Profitable even with low biogas production.

No activated carbon or other absorption elements.

No need to condition the source biogas or treat the resulting CO2.

It does not generate additional waste in the plant.

No introduction of air or oxygen in the process, making it more reliable and safer.

Nidup is more cost-efficient than membrane upgrading technologies, minimizing operative costs and optimizing performance and the financial figures of the project.

Nidup has an integrated H2S removal stage allowing operation with dirty biogas.

The durability of a Nidup biomethane plant is similar to the anaerobic digesters. 20 years. It does not need frequent parts replacements or major overhauls.

Nidup upgrading plant automation enables operation with minimal cost, staff and maintenance.
